How to Play Roulette
To begin a game of roulette you must place your bet. These bets are placed on the roulette table in the spot that corresponds to the bet for the number or group of numbers on the wheel. There are a range of bets you can place with most variations of the game including five inside bets and five outside bets, although some variations offer more bets in each category, or even bets in a separate category, such as in French roulette.
Inside bets include straight bets, split bets, row bets, double row bets and corner bets. Outside bets include red or black bets, odd or even bets, high or low bets, column bets and dozen bets.
Depending on the variation you play, there may be additional bets that can be placed such as the five-numbered bet in American roulette or the call (announced) bets in French roulette. The small white ball will be released into the spinning roulette wheel. As the wheel comes to rest, the ball will land in one of the numbered slots. Once the wheel has stopped moving, players will be paid out.
